About our Hosts & DTx Management Team

Barbara Garofalo,
Vice President of Operations Barbara Garofalo joined the DTx team in May 2013 as the company’s Vice President of Operations, responsible for all Operations and Supply Chain. Prior to joining DTX, Barbara served as the Vice President of Operations at DRS Technologies, where she held several senior leadership roles since joining the company in 2008. Prior to her term at DRS, Garofalo held similar positions at Avidyne Corporation, Innovative Solutions and Support and AlliedSignal Aerospace. Barbara has over 25 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Operations, Product Development Transition and Quality spanning commercial, aerospace and military markets. Barbara holds a Bachelor of Science degree in both Business Administration and Finance from National University.

Luis Alvarez,
Vice President of Integrated Solutions Luis Alvarez joined DTx as the Vice President of Operations in July of 2004. In May of 2013, he transitioned to Vice President of Integrated Systems. Prior to joining DTx, Luis served as the Vice President of Operations for JDS Uniphase in Melbourne, Florida. During his career, he has held high level management positions in engineering and manufacturing with Lucent Technologies and P-COM. He has over 16 years’ experience in product development, supply chain management, quality control, and high volume and high mix manufacturing of commercial, military and customized products. Luis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology and a Master in Business Administration degree from Centenary College.

DTx Management Team

Todd Stirtzinger,
President & CEO Todd Stirtzinger joined the DTx team in November 2012 as the company’s President & CEO. Prior to joining DTx, Todd served as the President for DRS Imaging and Targeting Solutions, the electro-optical infrared business unit for DRS Technologies, Inc. Before serving in his role as President for DRS Imaging and Targeting Solutions, Todd held positions of increasing responsibility to include Sr. Vice President of Programs & Business Operations for the DRS RSTA Group and Vice President & General Manger for the DRS Optronics division. In addition to Todd’s executive leadership roles, his 25-year high-tech manufacturing background includes broad and diverse experience within operations, sales management, strategic planning, program management and financial planning and control. Todd holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both Business Administration and Accounting from Rollins College and a Master’s of Business Administration from Webster University.

Kevin Manuel,
Chief Financial Officer Kevin Manuel joined DTx’s management team in July 2012 as the Chief Financial Officer. He brings thirty years of experience covering Finance, M&A, Supply Chain and General Management within small to medium sized business units and large corporate environments. That includes eleven years at Philips Healthcare and fifteen years at ICI Paints (Akzo Nobel) in C-Level roles since 1996. A fast track performer, his career has spanned the globe with senior roles based in London, Singapore, and Bangkok, as well as various USA locations. Kevin also brings a wide variety of industrial experience including the design, manufacture and sale of capital medical devices, software and systems, bulk and specialty chemicals, perfumes and industrial starches. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Computer Science from West Liberty University and completed Masters courses at North Carolina University and Kent State University.

Gene Garofalo,
Vice President of Business Development Gene Garofalo is a Co-Founder & VP of Business Development at DTx Inc. In his role, Gene is responsible for building DTx’s presence, managing business partnerships and pursuing new growth initiatives critical to enhancing DTx’s competitiveness. Gene has been a successful entrepreneur in the high tech industry since 1985 when he founded IES Corporation where he served as President and CEO. IES provided engineering integration and repair services for processor based technologies. In 1991, Gene co-founded DTx Inc. Gene graduated from the University of Missouri with a BS in Business Administration.

Dan Butler,
Vice President of Engineering Dan Butler joined DTx in 1991 and as of June 1, 2011 has been promoted from Director of Engineering to Vice President of Engineering. Dan manages new product design and development and is responsible for bringing products from the concept stage to successful production release. Dan’s engineering background includes design, structural analysis and manufacturing of advanced aircraft engines as well as computing platform and mechanical design for medical and industrial devices. Dan holds a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Florida.

Dan Nelson,
Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing Dan Nelson joined DTx’s management team in January 2010 as the Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Prior to DTx, he was the Executive Vice President for Stinger Medical. Before joining Stinger Medical’s corporate leadership team, Dan was President of Suncoast Partners International. Suncoast Partners International is a sales and marketing consulting firm that Dan launched in 1998. Dan has held a variety of sales management and general management roles at USCO Logistics (EVP Business Development), Comdata Corporation (SVP & General Manager, Software & Telco SBU) and Commodore International (Regional Vice President Sales). Dan has a Bachelor’s of Science in Finance from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA.
