President's MessageHome | Board Members | Education | Calendar of Events | Personal Development | Contact Us Message from the President Dear Members, It is a pleasure for me and the entire Board of Directors to welcome you back to a to a new and exciting APICS year! I am very happy to announce the addition of Madeline Marx to our Chapter’s Board of Directors. Madeline will be assuming the dual role of VP of Finance and VP of Administration. We are starting our first Professional Development Meeting on September 8, featuring Scott Bailey, Regional Manager for Strategic Accounts with Fastenal Company. His topic: “Driving Cost Out of Your Supply Chain with Documented Cost Savings and Supplier Collaboration”. The dinner and meeting will take place at Memaw’s Bar-B-Q at 600 East Eau Gallie Blvd., Indian Harbour Beach. In the educational department this year we will continue to provide CPIM certification review classes at Harris with 3 courses offered during the course of the year. Our first scheduled class is “Execution and Control of Operations” starting on Wednesday, September 16. The next class “Strategic Management of Resources” is scheduled to start on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 and the third class “Basics of Supply Chain Management” is scheduled to start on Wednesday, May 19, 2010. The APICS International Conference and Exposition “Global Ability” is scheduled this year from October 4-6 in Toronto, Canada. Our own Steve Cimorelli is representing the Chapter and will be a presenter at the conference. Also remember to let me know if you are planning on attending so an especial discounted Chapter price can be offered to you.
