Biography Of Shelley Gilliland A Quality Organization’s Transition from Inspect to Expect Using Lean This presentation will outline Harris’ vision and realization of a fully functioning Supplier Quality organization, including the cultural change necessary to achieve this goal. An explanation of the previous organization will be given and the phased implementation plan, which first focused on the use of Lean methodologies to streamline the current process, will be introduced. The development of a Supplier Quality organization and steps utilized to move toward that goal will be discussed, including successes and lessons learned positive uses of Lean methodologies during the transition and difficulties with culture change. About the Speaker: Shelley Gilliland is the Engineering Manager, Supplier Quality with Harris Corporation. Harris is an international communications and information technology company serving government and commercial markets in more than 150 countries. Over the past two years she has been focused on implementing a Supplier Quality organization and improving throughput the receiving inspection department. Shelley holds a BS degree in Business with an Engineering focus from the University of Indiana Wesleyan, and has nearly 21 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, with management responsibility in each. |
