Professional Development Meeting
Ice Cream Sundae Production: From Job Shop to Lean Flow
Are you interested in comparing a job shop layout to a lean flow line? Or maybe you just missed dessert? Either way, this session will be an instructive and tasty experience. This interactive workshop will let you and fellow participants take the roles of customer order entry professionals, production planners, workstation operators, inspectors, or hungry customers placing orders. The session involves two major exercises: first, simulation of a job shop layout; then, the creation of a flow line to demonstrate the improved lean environment. This is virtually the same presentation Michael gave at the APICS International Conference last October in Pittsburgh, which happened to be one of the most sought out, attended educational sessions at the conference.
* Please note the day and date of this event is different from our normal schedule. It was changed to accommodate Michael Ford speaking to the Mid-Florida Chapter of APICS the evening before, and the opportunity to schedule Michael while at the same time sharing expenses.
